SACCOS CEOs National Workshop Concludes, Issues 11 point Declaration

Kathmandu : The two-day “SACCOS CEOs National Workshop- 2023” organized by the Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions Ltd. (NEFSCUN) concluded today issuing an 11- point declaration towards streamlining and safeguarding the savings and credit cooperative movement in the country.

The two day assembly of the SACCOS technocrats saw participation from nearly 450 participants from across all the seven provinces and around 50 districts. It also saw insightful and awakening presentations from experts on various relevant topics and welcoming comments and value-addition from distinguished personalities. Speaker of the House of Representatives Dev Raj Ghimire inaugurated the workshop. Various insightful papers from Asociation of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions’ CEO Elenita V San Roque, Chief ofTechnical Officer in Management Ranjit Hitterattachi, NEFSCUN’s CEO Prakash Prasad Pokharel and others were presented while commentators added value to the papers.

The participating CEOs expressed solidarity towards effort of statutory requirement of financial cooperative act and voiced commitment to take the responsibility towards digitization, good governance and image building of the SACCOS movement.

The sole apex body of financial cooperatives in Nepal has been organizing the triennial event so as to provide platform for the management leaders from across country to learn the best national and international practices and internalize them with the purpose of disciplining the SACCOS movement of the country.

NEFSCUN’s CEO Pokharel told SAHAKARIKHABAR that the event was a grand success and the initial feedbacks have been overwhelming. He also said the outcome of the workshop will be a guiding document for all the stakeholders including the line ministry.
