Cooperative Pioneer Ghimire elected Babiyakharka Chair

Kathmandu : The 25th AGM of Kathmandu based Babiyakharka SACCOS unanimously elected cooperative pioneer Rishi Raj Ghimire as its chairman today.

Ghimire, past President of Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) and past Chair of Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions Ltd. (NEFSCUN) has established himself as one of the torchbearers of Nepali cooperative movement since long.

The newly elected chair of Babiyakharka, Ghimire, 68, reiterated his commitment towards good governance, financial transparency, accountability and sustainability. He said the new team’s focus would be towards receiving ACCESS brand which is a prestigious brand awarded to financial cooperatives that meet 84 indicators in 4 key areas focusing on sound financial health measured by PEARLS monitoring tool.
