NFESCUN appoints Pokharel as CEO

Kathmandu : Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions Ltd. (NEFSCUN), the umbrella federation of financial or credit cooperatives of Nepal, appoints Prakash Prasad Pokharel as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effecting from17 November, 2021 (Sharawan 1, 2078).

Pokharel who was workingin capacity ofthe acting CEO of the central federation, was promoted to the post of the CEO by the NEFSCUN’s historic 300^thboard meeting. He was the acting CEO since 16 July, 2020.

Pokharel entered into the cooperative scene as the deputy CEO of the NEFSCUN on 16 June 2019 (Asar 1, 2077). Pokharel, has amassed wider experience of working in the field of cooperatives along with national and internationa non-government organizations in various capacities.

At a brief function organized at the NEFSCUN’s headquarter, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, this morning, the Chairperson of the lone apex body of financial cooperatives of the country, Paritosh Paudyal handed over the appointment letter to Pokharel. The function saw the participation of the NEFSCUN’s board members Yagya Prasad Dhakal, Ghanshyam Adhikari, Reena Acharya, Nhuchhe Narayan Shrestha, Mandara Mishra including department heads.
